Tampa, Florida - December 15, 2009 - Innovative Video First of Its Kind in IT Certification Training. LearnSmart today announced the release of CompTIA A+ 2009 LearnSmart Video Training, the new video course that provides complete training for the 2009 series of CompTIA A+ certification exams. The new video training title from LearnSmart includes 25+ hours of video training for the CompTIA A+ Essentials (220-701) and A+ Practical Applications (220-702) certification exams. The course provides coverage for every topic required to pass the exams for the A+ certification, which CompTIA calls "the industry standard for computer support technicians."
With CompTIA A+ 2009 LearnSmart Video Training from LearnSmart, certification candidates are given convenient, instructor-led training that can lead to the CompTIA A+ certification which carries an average salary of $69,470 according to Certification Magazine's 2009 IT Certification Salary Survey. The training from LearnSmart provides an alternative to other more expensive certification exam training outlets. "People today have their minds focused on keeping their jobs," said LearnSmart President Jay Gandee. "Our A+ video training meets the needs of people on a budget who have to stay competitive in the field."
The instructor for CompTIA A+ 2009 LearnSmart Video Training is Mike Meyers, a prolific instructor and writer in the IT certification training industry who returns for his third CompTIA A+ video training course. The new course from LearnSmart features instruction from Meyers in many new and exciting ways including "Mini-Mike," a miniature clone of Meyers who helps illustrate key topics and objectives of the certification exams. Meyers is enthusiastic about the effort taken in this new direction. "I sure hope everyone likes this," he said "because we're putting in the sweat equity." His enthusiasm is shared by Wyett Ihler, Post Production General Manager for the video. "A+ 2003 was fantastic. A+ 2006 was even better," he said of previous releases. "But A+ 2009 is going to blow them both out of the water. Our production teams have totally stepped up."
CompTIA’s Web site states that the requirements for the CompTIA A+ certification were updated in 2009. To earn the 2009 A+ certification, a candidate must pass both the A+ Essentials (220-701) exam and the A+ Practical Applications (220-702) exam. Each exam is a timed, 90-minute exam consisting of 100 questions that measure the candidate’s skills in computer technology fundamentals, networking, security, troubleshooting, communications, professionalism, and problem-solving. Meyers gave praise to CompTIA's commitment to the A+ certification. "CompTIA continues to work really hard to make sure that you have the practical skills to be able to get out there and work on your computer," he said in a pre-release webisode for A+ 2009 video training. About A+ 2009 LearnSmart Video Training, Brad Washburn, Design Team Lead, said it was important to "make sure it's up to our quality standards and CompTIA's standards." Kendell Hall, Lead Audio/Video Designer added that "accuracy and quality are very important."
